Our signature hot dipped Galvanized Iron (GI) wire, also known as Premium fencing wire, hot-dipped zinc-coated wire or thermal galvanized wire, is made by means of wire drawing of mild steel wire rods followed by heat treatment and zinc coating in a continuous dipping method, making it highly resistant to corrosions in comparison to electroplated wire. Depending on the thickness of the zinc layer, it can be used for several years or decades before its heavily oxidized. Lanka SSL manufactures these GI steel wires in the size range between 1.20 mm to 5.00 mm in diameters with zinc coating up to 300g/m2, catering to a variety of applications. Further, the tensile strength of the wire and coil weight can be maintained as per the required specifications. Nail wire is drawn from mild steel wire rods through the wire drawing process, and Lanka SSL manufactures them in a range between 1.20 mm to 6.00 mm in diameters, with the tensile strength of both the wire and coil weight maintained as per the required specifications With significant research and development and continued appetite to improve our galvanized steel barbed wire, Lanka SSL was able to obtain and secure the prestigious Sri Lanka Standards (SLS) for its heavy grade and light grade GI barbed wire products, namely the SLS 31:1988 standards.
