"In a bid to minimize cost in re using bed sheets after sanitization Divine Marketing (Pvt) Ltd Kandana is introducing locally made disposable bed sheets. Because of the covid-19 pandemic, the bedsheets that are used for a patient in the hospital strictly cannot be reused for another patient without proper sterilization. The impractical situation of using cloth bed sheets is the hassle and the time taken to sterilize them as well as the need of a considerable amount of cloth bed sheets. This is something that exceeds the current capacity of the infection control system of a typical hospital in Sri Lanka,” said Managing Director and CEO Divine Marketing, Rienzie Nanayakkara. “It’s to solve this issue that we invested over Rs. 120 million and designed and commenced the distribution of these disposable bed sheets.” These disposable bed sheets are used in very prominent hospitals in the OPD rooms, doctor rooms, channeling rooms, laboratories, X-Ray theatres as well as in ICUs.
